Son Gual Golf Course opened in October 2007 and was the dawning of a dream that began in 1995 to design and lay out a high quality golf course. It is arguably one of the best golf courses in Europe and certainly in the running for best golf course in Majorca.
Designed by the former German amateur champion, Thomas Himmel, Son Gual is set on a beautiful plot of Majorcan countryside, in amongst countless mature olive trees, the standard of maintenance is impeccable, making any visit to play here a treat for players of all standards.

SON GUAL GOLF COURSE INFORMATION

The golf course boasts some wonderfully epic bunkering and testing water hazards on numerous holes, punishing any wayward shots or those trying to bite off too much of a corner! The greens generous and can present a large target for your approach shots, this by no way guarantees a par though. The putting surfaces are as undulating as they are large, resembling the famous golfing comparison to an “elephants graveyard” in many places. This will really test out your lag putting and making pars will feel like birdies.
The par five 18th hole is one that will be in your memory to stay. Playing slightly uphill towards the beautiful clubhouse, the split fairway is to be respected, with water hazards penalising those who don’t think carefully about where to lay up for the approach to the green. The same task is then faced on the approach to the kidney shaped green, which is as easy or difficult as the greenkeeper wishes to make the pin position on the day.
After your round, the terrace in clubhouse is a fantastic place to enjoy a small bite to eat and a cold beer, with expansive view of the tremendous golf course you have just enjoyed.
