Arabella Golf Course Descriptions

Situated close to Majorca’s capital Palma, Arabella Golf consists of three courses, Son Vida, Son Muntaner and Son Quint.

Son Vida is the oldest course on the island, originally opened in 1964. Despite undergoing a complete renovation in 2001, the course hasn’t lost any of its original character. It is famed for its wide fairways and breathtaking views across the bay of Palma. At only 6100 yards, Son Vida Golf Course is short by modern standards. It is renowned for its long sweeping doglegs and the dramatic par 5, 18th, which includes a second shot over water.

Son Muntaner was added to Arabella Golf in the summer of 2000 and is a tougher and longer challenge than its sister. Tight fairways and large greens are a trademark of the course, as are the many water features that await errant approach shots.

Son Quint is the newest course on the island.

Son Antem East

Situated between Palma city and Playa de Palma, Son Antem offers 2 x 18 holes courses with complete contrast in styles. The East Course was designed with novice and beginners in mind with flat wide open fairways and very little in the way of rough. The only obstacles to overcome are the 5 lakes which come into play on a number of holes. The East Course is a popular choice for groups on their first days play in Majorca, allowing a straightforward course on which to limber up for the more challenging courses on the island. The West Course at Son Antem opened in 2001 to much acclaim and is a tougher proposition than the East Course. Tight fairways call for accuracy from the tee and with a number of raised greens, distances can be deceiving. There is also a number of water hazards and strategically positioned bunkers to contend with.

Maioris Golf Course

Golf Maioris opened in 2007 and is the vision of Romeo Sala, (who also owns Pula Golf in the north-east of Mallorca), and the German architect Dieter Cabus.

This championship standard course has been built to cope with the demands of a hot Spanish summer and remains in excellent condition all year around. The course extends to 7000 yards and is a par 72.

It is set between pine, olive and carob trees in a classic Mallorcan landscape.
All levels of golfers will enjoy the challenge of a course that features four lakes and two island greens.

A couple of holes to look out for are the 2nd where, unusually, pine trees are situated in the centre of the fairwayand there is some clever design greenside. Steep run-offs right, left and to the rear of the putting surface make precise approach play a necessity.
The other is the 4th which is the first of the courses` par 5s. It features  an island green and there is not much margin of error on the approach.
