The Merrion, a member of Leading Hotels of the World is Dublin's most luxurious five star hotel, and is located in the city centre opposite Government Buildings. Created from four restored Georgian Townhouses, many of the 142 bedrooms and suites overlook private landscaped gardens. Remembered historically as the birthplace of the first Duke of Wellington, the hotel is also home to Ireland's largest privately-owned Art Collection.

Guests can choose to dine in The Garden Room Restaurant while Restaurant Patrick Guilbaud, with its 2 Michelin stars, offers more formal gourmet dining. Bars include The Cellar Bar set in the original 18th Century wine vaults and the intimate cocktail bar, No 23. During the spring and summer months, guests can relax out on the Garden Terrace while the Drawing Rooms, with their open log fires, are perfect for Afternoon Tea any time of the year.

The award-winning Merrion Spa and Health Club boasts an 18m pool, steam room, sauna, gymnasium and private treatment rooms.

Hermitage Golf Club

About Hermitage Golf Club

Located to the West of Dublin, Hermitage Golf Club is a parkland course with a championship set up. It is a welcome change of pace from some of the more predominant links golf experiences in the area. A gentle front nine at the top of the valley quickly changes gear into a challenging back nine with some spectacular golf holes as you work your way up and down the valley and running alongside the river. The 10th hole as a camera worthy 200ft drop into the valley leaving little margin for error or you end up in the river – it is definitely “one for the books” and is known as one of Irelands best golf holes.

We highly recommend Hermitage as a golf course to consider within your wider Dublin golf course itinerary. It is only 25 minutes from the city which makes it very popular with the rich and famous of the city too. The landscape and surroundings make Hermitage Golf Club feel a million miles from the city hence its popularity. With continual re-investment, the golf course boasts amongst the very best greens in the Dublin area, some unforgettable holes and a tricky finishing hole which could break many a scorecard!

The Royal Dublin Golf Club

Royal Dublin is a golf course that needs little in the way of introduction. Quite simply, it is one of the finest true links golf experiences you will find anywhere in the world and a must play to tick off the bucket list.

A regular host of the Irish Open and with some rather famous winners including Seve Ballesteros and Bernhard Langer to have triumphed at Royal Dublin.

Designed by H.S Colt who was the architect behind Sunningdale, Royal Dublin is not to be missed.
