Which resort is best to stay for a golf holiday in the Algarve?
Vilamoura is excellent, it enjoys the best of both worlds. Great bars and restaurants along with world-class golf courses only minutes away from the resort. We also highly recommend the resort of Quinta do Lago in Eastern Algarve if looking for a luxury experience. The town of Lagos in the Western Algarve is also a great option if seeking a more traditional Portuguese seaside resort experience with some unmissable golf courses including Palmares only a short transfer away.
Is golf expensive in the Algarve?
There is no one size fits all answer to this. You can enjoy a great value golf break in the Algarve if you travel off-season typically November to February or late June to August where green fees are much reduced. What are the best golf resorts in the Algarve for couples?
If looking for the complete experience with golf, spa and fine dining then we recommend the Hotel Quinta do Lago - it is 5 star, close to the beach and offers couples the ultimate golf holiday experience. There are many others to choose from including hidden gems such as the Palmares Beach House and old favourites such as Dona Filipa and Penina golf resorts too.
What are the best golf resorts in the Algarve for groups?
Groups love Albufeira and Vilamoura as a general rule because they offer the sacred combination of great golf nearby and nightlife on your doorstep. If your group prefers to stay onsite at a golf resort then the likes of NAU Salgados Palm Village have all inclusive golf packages with free transfers to the nearby courses too!
When is the best time to play golf in the Algarve?
The most popular months are typically April - June and September - October. The weather is perfect for golf and avoids the summer heat! However, if flexible, you can grab yourself a great price and tee time availability if willing to travel outside of these months. The Algarve has a generally fantastic golfers climate year-round.
Best all inclusive golfers hotels in the Algarve?
Robinson Club Quinta da Ria is a great value all-inclusive choice in Eastern Algarve. It has the terrific Quinta da Ria and Quinta da Cima golf courses right on your doorstep. The NAU Salgados Palm Village is also very good value too and you can play golf on the European Tour venue Morgado Golf Course too.
