The Els Club Vilamoura is one of the most exclusive golf clubs in the Algarve. Formerly known as the Victoria course, Ernie Els and his team have completely reimagined the design and layout with the course bearing very little resemblance to its past.
Undoubtedly, up there amongst the best golfing experiences in Portugal, The Els Club as an overall golf day out is simply a must-do. Access to Els Club Vilamoura is limited to visitors and you must stay in the neighbouring Victoria Golf Resort & Spa to gain access.
The course itself is very well thought out with wide fairways allowing for some forgiveness off the tee albeit with some creative carries over water to make you think twice, alongside some challenging approach shots to test your resolve. With large greens and an overall feeling of space and tranquillity amongst the nature of Vilamoura, the Els Club Vilamoura impresses on a number of levels and is home to major competitions including the PGA Champions Tour from 2026.
