Druids Heath Golf Course

A mix of heathland and parkland the course is long but fair and can be enjoyed by golfers of all abilities due to the large fairways on most holes. Many golfing commentators put the Heath course on the same standing as the Glen. Our recommendation is to play both and decide for yourself.

Carton House Montgomerie

The "Monty" course is long but can be enjoyed by handicap golfers as the fairways are wide and poor shots do not get punished all the time that is of course if you stay away from the deep bunkers. There are no signature holes to speak of just a good all round course.

Hermitage Golf Club

About Hermitage Golf Club

Located to the West of Dublin, Hermitage Golf Club is a parkland course with a championship set up. It is a welcome change of pace from some of the more predominant links golf experiences in the area. A gentle front nine at the top of the valley quickly changes gear into a challenging back nine with some spectacular golf holes as you work your way up and down the valley and running alongside the river. The 10th hole as a camera worthy 200ft drop into the valley leaving little margin for error or you end up in the river – it is definitely “one for the books” and is known as one of Irelands best golf holes.

We highly recommend Hermitage as a golf course to consider within your wider Dublin golf course itinerary. It is only 25 minutes from the city which makes it very popular with the rich and famous of the city too. The landscape and surroundings make Hermitage Golf Club feel a million miles from the city hence its popularity. With continual re-investment, the golf course boasts amongst the very best greens in the Dublin area, some unforgettable holes and a tricky finishing hole which could break many a scorecard!

Kilkea Castle Golf Course

Kilkea Golf Course, located just an hours drive from Dublin city centre and Dublin airport, is an 18-hole course which boasts views of a 12th century castle (the oldest continuously inhabited castle in Ireland) on every fairway.

In constructing this championship course, the designers have cleverly used the River Griese as a natural hazard flowing through the Castle grounds and estate. The combination of this water and a variety of other hazards and interesting greens ensures the golfer playing the course has a considered challenge on his or her hands. You will encounter the River at almost every hole. Two lakes have also been included in the course design, adding to the overall difficulty of this stunning golf course.
