Bangkok Experiences
From the gilded temples of the old town, the longtail boats on the Chao Phraya River and sampling the local cuisine at the night markets, there's plenty to explore in Bangkok. We always recommend adding a couple of extra days here, to relax after the long haul flight before starting your journey.

The Grand Palace
Step through the gates of the Grand Palace and you're surrounded by temples and royal halls glittering with gold, tiles and ceramics. Make your way to Wat Phra to stand before the sacred Emerald Buddha, the heart of the palace since Bangkok became Thailand's capital in 1782.
Temples tour
Wander beneath the vast golden Reclining Buddha at Wat Pho, then treat yourself to a traditional Thai massage in the temple where it was born. Then hop across the river and visit Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn.
Lumphini Park
Visit the largest public park in Bangkok and enjoy a morning walk around the lake, a nice way to escape the hustle and bustle of the city.
Evening tuk tuk food tour
As the sun goes down, hop in the back of a tuk tuk and get a local guide to take you around Bangkok, stopping at street food stalls and night markets along the way. It's a great way to travel around the city in the evening, while enjoying some of the local cuisine.
Day Trips from Bangkok
The Bridge of the River Kwai and Death Valley
Immerse yourself in the history of World War II as you walk across the Bridge on the River Kwai, then learn more by visiting the war cemetery and museum. If visiting, we highly recommend a ride along the Death Railway.
Damnoen Saduak floating market
Visit Damnoen Saduak, Thailand's most famous floating market, where vendors paddle up with tropical fruit, fresh coconuts and noodles cooked on the water. Go early, when the canals are at their liveliest.
