Highlands Golf Holidays

The rugged landscapes of the Scottish Highlands provide magnificent backdrops to world leading links golf courses. Inverness, 'the capital of the Highlands', is a beautiful, vibrant city and is connected to the rest of the country via air, rail and road.  It has some great hotels and is within easy reach of the best golf experiences in the area.  A golf break here is for the golf purist and you'll find an exciting mix of Championship golf and true hidden gems.

Our program centres around the city of Inverness and coastal town of Nairn. Within them and in the surrounding area are some unbelievable golf courses that are waiting to be played. This area of the country is known for its outstanding natural beauty with camera ready golf courses including Castle Stuart and Royal Dornoch. A trip to the Highlands would not be complete without a wee dram at one of the many distilleries.

Top Tips when golfing in the Scottish Highlands

Northern Lights

The world-famous Aurora Borealis can be spotted at many locations in the Scottish Highlands. This beautiful phenomenon is sometimes described as a light ballet performance, with greens, pinks and purples flickering in the night sky.

Fort George

This 18th-century fortress was created after the Jacobite rising, to control the Scottish Highlands. The star-shaped design allows for lots of vantage points to take in the beautiful landscape. You might even spot dolphins if you are lucky!

Speyside Whisky

Home to some of the most famous whiskies on the planet; Macallan, Glenfiddich, Glenlivet, Cardhu, to name only a few.  A distillery tour (or 2, or 3!) is the perfect accompaniment to any trip through the Highlands and Speyside. The Malt Whisky Trail has some of the most scenic drives found in Scotland, rain (sometimes hail) or shine.

Loch Ness

Loch Ness is one of the largest bodies of water and boasts the largest volume of water in the UK. Scottish folklore tells of this being the home of “Nessie”, a large marine animal with a long neck and flippers. It has been a while since there has been a sighting, maybe you could be the next to spot her!
