Vietnam - Your Next Golf Holiday Adventure
When it comes to an immersive golf holiday experience, they don’t come much better than Vietnam. It is a country with so much to offer travelling golfers looking to explore the culture, see the sights, enjoy the coastline and play some unforgettable golf courses along the way.
Vietnam offers multiple experiences in one trip. For example, you can quite easily be doing an overnight junk-boat cruise on Ha Long Bay, enjoying the colonial charm of Hanoi, walking the Golden Bridge in Ba Na Hills, exploring the waterways of Hoi An, visiting the Mekong Delta, history tours of Ho Chi Minh and the many different Vietnam war memorials including the Chu Chi Tunnels…..and this is before you add golf….all in one trip!
Why choose Vietnam for a golf holiday?
Vietnam seamlessly blends cultural and must-play golf courses. You are not travelling far to play some of the finest golf courses in Asia. There aren’t many places where you can experience UNESCO World Heritage sites in the afternoon after playing truly unique, championship-level golf courses in the morning.
What is golf like in Vietnam?
Vietnam has a wealth of incredible golf courses. You can play links-style coastal courses, play in the mountains or play a combination of all in the same round due to how diverse the environment is. It is not uncommon to be playing in the rainforest and then over traditional rice padi fields with wildlife galore. Make no mistake, golf in Vietnam will WOW you and if your game doesn’t quite show up, you’ll still have a very memorable experience.

What is the golfing experience like in Vietnam?
In Vietnam, golf is not seen as a “quick 18 holes” – it is a true day out. The flow of the day is as follows:
- You arrive at the golf course, and your golf clubs are tagged and delivered to your golf buggy.
- You check in with the golf reception and are allocated your dedicated locker, and you effectively charge everything back to your locker number. For example, if you wanted to buy anything in the pro-shop or drinks and food whilst on the golf course and in the clubhouse before or after the game, it gets charged to your locker. You simply settle your bill at the end of your day.
- Caddies are mandatory with every round in Vietnam. Most caddies in Vietnam are ladies. Their knowledge and service is amazing. Your caddie fee is generally included in the green fee and you only pay the gratuity. Expect to pay $15 in caddie tips. The caddie experience really elevates your golf round in Vietnam.
Can you stay all-inclusive in Vietnam?
Vietnam is not an all-inclusive style destination. Bed and breakfast is the normal board basis and then you pay as you go for everything else. The cost of living as a tourist in Vietnam is extremely good value. Both in and out of your holiday hotel, you can enjoy some amazing food and drinks for a fraction of the prices paid at home.
Can I include any excursions or tours on my golf trip to Vietnam?
Yes, our experts in Vietnam can include specialist tours and entry into many of the must-see and explore attractions around the country. We can include them within your itinerary cost meaning that you can relax knowing everything is covered in advance.
Do GolfKings have representatives in Vietnam in case we need help?
Yes, we have designated representatives in Vietnam who are all English-speaking to ensure that your trip goes without a hitch. If you have any local questions or changes that need to be made, you can easily contact them to discuss locally.

Tips to make your stay extra special on a Vietnam golf holiday
- Include fast-track immigration and meet and greet at the arrival airport. It will make your arrival experience easier and more efficient, meaning you’ll be settling into your Vietnam golf holiday in no time.
- Withdraw the local currency, the Vietnamese Dong, and use it for most smaller purchases, including Caddie fees and gratuities.
- Ensure that buggies are included with every golf round. Whilst you can walk many of the courses, given the average warm temperatures, it is more comfortable to take a buggy!
- Vietnamese coffee – try the traditional coffee made with condensed milk...a decadent local speciality and ideal for that pre-golf round energy.
- Explore local restaurants and bars. We highly recommend trying local places. They are a real treat with much of the Vietnamese cuisine being very fresh and tasty. Not to mention amazing value for money!
- Make sure you experience at least one or two different destinations in Vietnam during your trip. The country has a lot to offer with some stunning scenery up and down the coastline. You will have a much better appreciation for the culture and the destination by staying in a couple of different areas during your trip. Our recommendation is a combination of Hanoi, Danang and Ho Chi Minh or alternatively if time doesn’t allow, combine Danang with either Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh.
