Mont Choisy Le Golf
Located in the north of Mauritius, Mont Choisy is another Peter Matkovich designed masterpiece that displays the beautiful landscape of the island. Set on terrain that was previously used as a sugar can planation, the golf course of Mont Choisy opened in 2017 with glowing early reviews from those lucky enough to play in Mauritius.
The golf course winds its way through dramatic mountainous scenes, with views in every direction. There is a combination of risk/reward par 4s and 5s, along with strong and testing holes, where pars will feel like birdies.
The beautiful island green par three 15th hole has a less than conventional backdrop, a towering old stone chimney, overlooking the putting surface which can look like an impossible target if not on your game.
The round closes with a dogleg par 5, with water strategically placed near the green for those who might feel brave enough to take on their 2nd shot to chase an eagle 3.
Mont Choisy Le Golf is a fine addition to the already strong list of golf courses in Mauritius. Located up near the very north of the island, it offers something completely different, to those looking to stay and play golf in Mauritius.
