AP Cabanas Beach and Nature Hotel

Located in the eastern end of the Algarve, Castro Marim Golfe and Country Club is one of the newest courses in Portugal and is in an area that, until recently, had no golfing infrastructure at all.

Built next to a nature reserve, Castro Marim Golf Course offers a peaceful atmosphere and views over the Atlantic Ocean and the nearby River Guadiana.  At only 5800 yards long, this par 71 is not a long course by modern standards but a number of natural lakes come into play on many holes, requiring accuracy and careful course management.

Distance From Course: 10 miles

Located in the Ria Formosa Natural Park, Quinta da Ria Golf Course is located in a beautiful setting with the Atlantic Ocean as its southern boundary. It is a sister to Quinta da Cima Golf Course.

There is little undulation on the Quinta da Ria Course and the fairways are relatively generous with little trouble from the tee. The greens are well guarded by bunkers and the five lakes which border the course.

Distance From Course: 3 miles

Set in rolling terrain the fairways are dotted with almond trees and strategically placed bunkers and water hazards require accuracy from the tee. The lakes also come into play on the approach shots requiring good club selection and accuracy to the well guarded greens.

At 6900 yards, Quinta da Cima Golf Course is slightly longer than its sister course but is still an enjoyable test for any level of player and makes for a fantastic round of golf in any Algarve holiday.

The brainchild of Sir Henry Cotton in the 1980s, Benamor Golf Course did not open for play until 2000 and was the first golf course in the eastern end of the Algarve.

The Benamor Golf Course is built on hilly ground with some undulating fairways which are lined with olive and fig trees, requiring accuracy rather than length from the tee.  At only 5900 yards from the back tees it is not long, but strategically placed bunkers and the occasional water hazard protect the large greens.

Designed by Severiano Ballesteros, Quinta do Vale Golf Course is located in a natural valley at the eastern end of the Algarve offering breathtaking views over the Guadiana River.

Opened for play in 2007, a feature of the course is its numerous dog legs making club selection and careful placement off the tee a must. Measuring 6500 metres in length from the back tees, a unique feature of this championship layout is the combination of holes with six par 3s, six par 4s and six par 5s.

Monte Rei Golf Club is located to the North East of Tavira in the foothills of the mountains. The course sweeps through the natural terrain and has gentle changes in elevation that add great character to this classic design.  The first of two courses at the resort, Monte Rei North, is another great Jack Nicklaus Signature Course.
