Puerto Juan Montiel

The 4-star Puerto Juan Montiel Hotel is the perfect base to explore Aguilas and the surrounding golf courses, a hidden gem of a coastal town in the Murcia region. The hotel overlooks the sea and marina so you are only steps away from the seafront and local resort. In our view, the hotel is great for smaller groups and couples who are looking to discover a more traditional Spanish seaside resort and play some very good golf courses. The value offered at Puerto Juan Montiel is amongst the best in Spain and sits waiting to be discovered by golfers.

The town of Aguilas is a working town meaning there is plenty going on at all times of the year. This also means there is a great choice of bars and restaurants to enjoy the local delicacies and everything is very good value too. 

The hotel has a great buffet restaurant and popular café bar called The Taberna, it is the ideal spot to enjoy a drink whilst admiring the view over the marina and seafront. Located on the 6th floor of the hotel is a great spa too – ideal for spending a few hours post-golf or on a day off the course!

Golf-wise, there are some excellent golf courses nearby including Lorca Golf and Aguilon Golf which are less than 20 minutes away. We also recommend playing the Jack Nicklaus signature-designed Alhama Golf which is 45 minutes from the hotel too.
