Fancourt Montagu

Voted the number one golf course in South Africa in 2000, the Montagu course at Fancourt has since undergone many more improvements and is today in league with the most modern courses of the world. With golfing access limited to members and their guests, the much-celebrated Parkland course provides ample time and space to relish a quite beautifully manicured experience, in majestic surroundings like no other.

The new and improved Montagu course makes for a remarkable round of golf. The holes have been lengthened and new green complexes have been introduced. The warm-up area, featuring a full-length range and a chipping and bunker practice area, is available to all golfers before play. Golf carts are available for hire, weather permitting. Caddies are mandatory to ensure a steady pace-of-play and add to the joy of playing.

Fancourt's Outeniqua Golf Course

A majestic 18-hole parkland layout at Fancourt, designed by the legendary Grand Slam golfer Gary Player, the Outeniqua is quite similar to the Montagu and offers challenging design and fine conditioning to ensure an excellent test for all levels of golfers. With play being restricted to hotel residents, members and their guests, the course rarely seems crowded and you can enjoy a peaceful and comfortable round of golf at your pace. Although set in the same surroundings as its better known counterparts, the Outeniqua has developed an individual personality rivalling the others.

As with all courses at Fancourt, there are a variety of tees from which to choose to play, ensuring that golfers are unlikely to ever feel overpowered by the course. Excellent water features and creeks interspersed with uphill and downhill challenges and excellent bunkering (recently renovated) are all augmented in the charm and challenge by the colourful flora to be seen throughout the course.

Clovelly Golf Course

With spectacular mountain views, False Bay and the ocean as a focal point, Clovelly is one of South Africa's best parkland courses.

A tight par 72 with a testing mix of interesting holes and elevated greens accompanied by beautiful views of Silvermine River and lakes. Natural water features and a wide variety of indigenous fauna and flora, notably the variety of trees lining the fairways.

Pinnacle Point Golf Club

The Pinnacle Point Golf Course is something truly unique for the discerning golfer. This 18 hole championship golf course was designed by well-known South African golf course architect Peter Matkovich who opened the course together with top Irish Tour Golf Professional Darren Clarke in November 2006.

Darren Clarke, who was also involved with many aspects of the Pinnacle Point course design, has said that Pinnacle Point is “... the best golf course on the planet.” Pinnacle Point was selected as one of the Top Ten New Golf Courses of the World by the American publication Travel & Leisure in January 2007.

St Francis Bay Golf Club

St Francis Bay Golf Club is renowned country-wide for its warm hospitality and a great club spirit, which has been the essence of the club over the years and continues to grow.

For all golfers, especially those visiting the Eastern Cape in South Africa, the opportunity to visit St Francis Bay Golf Club for a couple of rounds should not be missed.

Situated in one of South Africa’s, if not the world, most exclusive locations, St Francis Bay Golf Course has been fashioned on an incredible estate that overlooks the ocean that the town of St Francis Bay is built up against.
The club, originally a nine-hole course designed by Robert Grimsdell and funded by Leighton Hulett in 1975 was for private use but has since then incurred dramatic changes and a further 9 added by Maxwell in 1999 resulted in the 18 hole it is today.

Oubaai Golf Course

Oubaai is golfing heaven: idyllic yet challenging and wrapped up in the most breath-taking scenery on offer along the Garden Route. Perched on the edge of the hill cliffs leading down toward the Indian Ocean and with the Outeniqua Mountain Range as a majestic backdrop, the club enjoys the best of both worlds. The fairways undulate over the hilly terrain and the grounds are in immaculate condition.

Kingswood Golf Course

Situated on the picturesque Garden Route in George, the Kingswood Golf Course is designed by Danie Obermeyer, a star of the design circuit. Cape Town-born Sally Little, international LPGA champion and South African legend for 35 years sign off this golf course. Her invaluable inputs have combined with Obermeyer`s experience and creativity to result in a course that is not only female and family-friendly, but also a challenging golf experience.

The course, built on a rolling landscape has a sense of space due to seemingly wide-open fairways; it also offers an array of visually pleasant holes, some of which are seen from high vantage locations and some in a tranquil, serene and protected valley.
The feature bunkers are a quite intimidating, yet aesthetically memorable challenge throughout the course, and amply make up for the lack of excessively long carries or very challenging water features.
