The rooms and suites are comfortable and spacious, all with mountain and valley views, and if you’d like to treat yourself, we would recommend upgrading to a Fairmont Gold room, for lounge access and some of the best views of Mount Rundle.

There's plenty to fill the hours off the course, too, with a spa, indoor and outdoor heated pools and an indoor hot tub, plus a fitness centre and easy access to the trails and nearby experiences in Banff. When it comes to evening, you are spoilt for choice, with plenty of high quality bars and restaurants available onsite, a notable favourite includes the Chop House restaurant where you can enjoy a fine Alberta steak.

Golf wise, you can enjoy 27 holes onsite at Fairmont Banff Springs Golf Club, including the Stanley Thompson designed championship course, home to the famous par 3 fourth, Devil's Cauldron.

Fairmont Banff Springs combines iconic scenery, standout golf and refined resort comforts, making it a great option to include as part of a wider Canadian golf tour itinerary.

Fairmont Banff Springs Golf Course

The Fairmont Banff Springs Golf Course, set in the heart of Canada’s Rocky Mountains, offers a challenging yet rewarding test across 27 holes of championship golf with breathtaking views in every direction. A perfect course to include as part of a wider Canada golf tour.

Stanley Thomspon Course
Designer: Stanley Thompson  |  18 holes  |  71 par  |  6,938 yards

The championship Stanley Thompson 18 winds along the valley floor beneath the peaks of Mount Rundle and Sulphur Mountain, with its generous fairways, large sloping greens and flashed bunkering. One of the courses highlights is the par 3 4th, 'Devil's Cauldron', plays from an elevated tee across a glacial meltwater pond to a bowl shaped green ringed by bunkers, with Mount Rundle rising behind.

Tunnel Mountain Course
Designer: Cornish & Robinson  |  18 holes  |  36 par  |  3,287 yards

The adjoining Tunnel Mountain 9 is no pushover, and the three nines combine for a round. Keep an eye out for the resident elk along the way!

Silvertip Resort Golf Course

Situated near Canmore in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, Silvertip Resort features an 18 hole championship course, that combines stunning views with a unique layout. Its sweeping fairways rise and fall more than 600 ft of elevation, meaning a buggy is a must!

Designer: Les Furber  |  18 holes  |  72 par  |  7,200 yards

The course is especially known for its exhilarating par-3s, played from high tees down to greens carved into the valley. From the championship tees it reaches around 7,200 yards, but five sets of tees from roughly 5,100 yards keep it rewarding for every level. Few courses match the grandeur and sheer scale of the Rockies quite like this one.

Stewart Creek Golf and Country Club

Perched on the mountainside above Canmore in the Bow Valley, Stewart Creek is widely rated among the finest mountain golf experiences in Alberta.

Designer: Gary Browning  |  18 holes  |  71 par  |  7,009 yards

One of the interesting features of the course is that it is set on an old coal mining site, with the 18 holes built into the natural landscape. With layered fairways and subtly sloped greens, you certainly won’t be disappointed with the views! A superb practice facility and clubhouse with a balcony over the range complete one of the most rounded golf experiences in the region.
