Costa Navarino Resort, Greece
Where to Stay
At Costa Navarino, you have 2 excellent accommodation options - The Westin Resort or The Romanos.
The Westin Resort Costa Navarino
The Westin Resort Costa Navarino has been voted one of the best resorts in Greece and one of the foremost holiday destinations in Europe. The location is simply stunning. Boasting impressive views over the Ionian Sea with direct access to a wonderful 1.5km long sandy beach.
The rooms here are both luxurious and spacious ranging from 40sqm to 80sqm that offer Garden or Sea Views. In the summer season I would highly recommend the infinity rooms allowing you to enjoy your very own private pool which is also great value.
The Romanos, a Luxury Collection Resort
If you are looking for further luxury then The Romanos certainly ticks all the boxes. This Luxury Collection Resort offers deluxe rooms, suites and villas ranging from 43m² to 192m² along with the magnificent 630m² Royal Villa Methoni and 660m2Royal Villa Koroni. The Romanos sits adjacent to the Westin and both hotels enjoy the same bars and restaurants. The Romanos is only open from May to October.
The dining experience at Navarino is extensive. With 13 restaurants, 4 bars, lounges and 3 pool bars, Navarino Dunes ensures a fine dining experience for all tastes. If you enjoy a really good steak, I would highly recommend the Flame restaurant at the Dunes Clubhouse, it's not to be missed!
I would also recommend you visit their picturesque village about 5 mins away to discover traditional Messinian cooking. These are authentic family recipes and definitely worth trying at least once during your trip to experience traditional Greek cuisine.
Golf at Navarino
You have two excellent and very different courses on offer at Navarino and two further courses due to open in spring/summer of 2022. The variety on offer will truly put Navarino as one of the finest golfing destinations in Europe.
The Dunes Course is the first signature golf course in Greece and currently holds the number 1 spot! Designed by former Ryder Cup Captain Bernard Langer it’s easy to see why people rave about this course. Much of it has been shaped to create the ambience of a links course with undulating greens and steep faced pot bunkers. Fairways are generous so it's all about being strategic and avoiding those bunkers!
The Bay Course was designed by renowned course architect Robert Trent Jones Jnr and is situated 10km away from the hotel. It gives some breath-taking views around the bay of which it takes its name. This course is different than the Dunes but still so much fun to play. The course is certainly shorter, greens much less undulating but has plenty of elevation changes which allows to experience some wonderful views of the Bay and Ionian Sea. Buggies are mandatory here due to some of the steep climbs.
Costa Navarino Resort Facilities
Navarino has plenty to offer onsite other than golf with an impressive 13 racquet courts, race track, basketball court and several indoor and outdoor swimming pools. They also have an Aqua park which is very fun and popular with families.
The Spa at Navarino is also very impressive with a full range of specialty spa treatments based on health and beauty practices of ancient Greece which make full use of the region’s exclusive natural and revitalizing ingredients, as well as an extensive range of luxury spa products from around the globe.
The resort hosts various classes each morning and they are at set times and free. Golfers can use the ‘warm up’ class and then the stretching class after they finish.
Finally in the courtyard where you will find many of their fine a la carte restaurants is an outdoor cinema playing classic films every evening.
Navarino Top Tips
• Take the half board as you get credit towards each a la carte restaurant and ensure you book your preferred restaurants soon after arrival.
• If you have a spare afternoon, get a taxi into town and enjoy the truly authentic Greek culture.
Flights to Costa Navarino
From March to November, you will fly into Kalamata which is approx 45mins from the hotel. In the low season you would fly to Athens and it's around 2.5 hours transfer to the hotel. With the Navarino area getting larger, we expect an increase of flight options to Kalamata in the near future.
