Aroeira Golf Resort has two excellent golf courses. Aroeira Pines Classic designed by Frank Pennink opened in 1973 and its sister course, Aroeira Challenge, opened in 2000 designed by the renowned Donald Steel.

Aroeira Challenge, formerly known as Aroeira II has a different style than its sister course. The course is laid out across flatter land and features plenty of well placed bunkers and 5 lakes to negotiate. This is a great golf course for different levels of golfing ability, particularly as there are 5 tees on each hole, giving the golfer plenty of options. Aroeira Challenge has hosted the Qualifying School of Ladies European Tour and several Ladies Opens.
