NH Lagos sits in the heart of town, a few minutes from the marina. The rooms are spread across low-rise blocks set among gardens and courtyards, so it feels more like a village than one big building. There are indoor and outdoor pools, and a free shuttle runs to the Duna Beach Club on the long sands of Meia Praia. After golf, it’s an easy place to unwind.

Dinner, the Portuguese way
