Quinta do Lago Laranjal has won the Best Golf Course Category in the Portuguese Travel Awards 2011. After being short listed among 5 other Top golf courses in Portugal, Laranjal was voted the winner at an exclusive award ceremony in the 5 star Mar de Ar Hotel on Friday 9h September.

Voters from across Portugal voted for Laranjal through an on- line facility over the summer period.

Victor Lopes, Operations Manager at Laranjal, expressed how he was “delighted to receive the award”. “The team work very hard to ensure golfers receive the best experience possible when they play Laranjal. We are very proud and will continue to do our best and try win the award next year!”

Originally an orange grove, Its narrow fairways and well defined greens require concentration and accuracy to navigate the testing route laid out on a rolling and distinctive terrain. It is a par 72, 6,480 meters, with five par 5s, eight par 4s, five par 3s set amongst umbrella pines, cork-oaks and orange trees with a natural water course and 5 beautiful lakes.
