The 4* Doubletree by Hilton Islantilla Golf Resort is a real paradise of relaxation set in an exclusive complex overlooking the neighbouring Islantilla Golf Course.  One of the original and best courses in the Costa de la Luz, golf at Islantilla is a gem of Eastern Spain and Huelva golf region.

Islantilla Golf

Despite only opening in 1992, Islantilla Golf Course is already one of the best known courses in Southern Spain and was voted among the top 100 courses in Europe by Golf Digest in 2000. Islantilla has also played host to a number of PGA events such as the 1995 Turespana Masters, as well as various Challenge Tour events.

Islantilla Golf Course Description

There are a total of 27 holes available split into three 9 hole courses, each offering a different test. The fairways and greens of the first 9 holes are lined with hazards, so precision and accuracy off the tee and on approach shots is a must. The second 9 are more open and encourage the bigger hitters to open their shoulders.  Some care must be taken to avoid the bunkers which await any wayward approach shots. Course 3 is part of the original 18 holes (along with the first 9 holes) and also requires careful thought and precision to avoid many pit falls which await an errant shot.

Surrounded by stunning sea views and with challenges to suit players of all abilities, the Islantilla Golf Course is a firm favourite among visitors to the area.

El Rompido South Golf Course

The South Course sprawls across a mix of parkland and marshland offering some amazing views of the surrounding countryside.  The front 9 requires accuracy from the tee to avoid the neighbouring marshes and careful club selection on the approach shots to avoid the numerous bunkers which guard the greens.  The back 9 is more open with generous fairways and large greens.  Careful club selection is still required on approach shots to avoid leaving a long birdie putt.

Nuevo Portil Golf Course Description

The main feature of the Nuevo Portil Golf Course is the number of dog legs and gently sloping fairways. They require precise tee-shots in order to position your ball on the right side of the fairway and leave a clear shot to the green.  Careful club selection is also required on approach shots to the large greens, which are well protected by bunkers.  The greens at Nuevo Portil Golf Course are renowned for being the quickest and most testing of the courses in the area, making this course a must for any Costa de la Luz golf holiday.

This course is a mix of parkland and marshland, offering some amazing views of the surrounding countryside.

Requiring both length and accuracy, although the greens are sized to ensure that both the most adept player and even the less experienced golfer will fully enjoy their round.
