Known as Florida’s First Coast of Golf – the automatic reaction is to think that it is all about the TPC Stadium Course at Sawgrass but there are so many fantastic golf course options to complement your stay in this great area of Florida. With the Atlantic Ocean and golden sand beaches, it is a great area of Florida to visit during your golf trip as part of your Florida swing tour or if heading North to the likes of South Carolina or Georgia to see the Masters.
Tampa and Gulf Coast, Naples and Innisbrook
Tampa is one of the most exciting cities in Florida. Getting Around:
Florida is one of the golf holiday destinations where we highly recommend hiring a car. Driving across the state is very easy and it is the best way to experience multiple golf courses and resorts all in one unforgettable Florida golf holiday.
Transfers can be arranged if planning on staying in Orlando and exploring the local area in taxis or if doing the same in and around the Miami region.
Weather in Florida:
Florida has a tropical climate and is regularly called the Sunshine State with good reason. During the summer months of June to September, it can be hot and humid for golf in the afternoons, so we recommend golfing early in the mornings. The best weather from a Florida golf holiday perspective is between November and April with pleasant daytime temperatures and lower chances of rainfall.
Hurricane season as defined runs between June and November with storms more likely between September and November.

Hire a car during your stay and you will experience so much more of this sunshine state.
The only way to play Bay Hill Golf Club is to stay at Mr Palmer’s Bay Hill Lodge. Stay for a couple of days and soak in the history.
Bay Hill Club and Lodge >Space fans need to head to Kennedy Space Centre for an interesting day out. Add to that the multiple theme parks throughout Orlando that are worth a visit if having a day off the golf course.
During your stay at Sawgrass, pop by the World Golf Village and Hall of Fame in St Augustine and take a walk down golf’s memory lane commemorating the best players and moments to every grace the game.
