Located in the village of Elveria  close to the resort of Marbella, Santa Maria lies between 2 valleys which form the natural contours of the course.  

The front nine are the original 9 holes and despite being fairly short require a great deal of accuracy to raised greens which are well guarded by several bunkers and water hazards.  The back nine is longer with more generous fairways encouraging the bigger hitters to open their shoulders.  

Amongst the most spectacular holes are the 17th where the green is surrounded by bunkers and the 11th green which is bordered by a large lake and waterfall.
