Lauro is located in the foothills of the Mijas mountains and offers stunning views across the Guadalhorce valley below. Opened in 1992 the 18 hole parkland course recently opened a further 9 holes adding to the variety of options on offer.
The original 18 holes are fairly flat and run through avenues of olive trees meaning accurate tee-shots are a must. There is also 2 huge water hazards which surround the 9th and 18th greens. Despite not being long by modern standards at 6500 yards, a great deal of course management is required to score well.
The new 9 holes are across the main road from the clubhouse and offer a slightly different challenge to the other 18 holes.
Undulating terrain and raised greens are prominent making club selection tricky although the fairways are more generous with the majority of holes running parallel with each other.
