Like many of the areas course, Los Naranjos was designed by the renowed golf course architect Robert Trent Jones and was a course he considered one of his best creations.
The front nine is set on rolling terrain and has generous fairways with the only real danger being a number of strategically placed bunkers waiting to gather any stray shots. The back nine is much tougher with narrow fairways set between avenues of orange trees which give the course its name with many holes being protected by water hazards.
With an SSS of 75 from the white tees and measuring over 7000 yards it is a course more suited to low handicappers and regarded as one of the toughest courses on the Costa del Sol.
