Situated near San Roque, Alcaidesa Golf Links was designed by Peter Allis and Clive Cook and offers spectactular views of The Rock of Gibralter and The Atlas Mountains of North Africa.
Opened for play in 1992, Alcaidesa is not long by modern day standards at just under 5500 yards in length although this par 68 course requires a fair amount of accuracy. The fairways are fairly generous which encourage the bigger hitters to open their shoulders although some care has to be taken to avoid the many gorse bushes which await any stray tee-shots. The greens are fairly small and careful club selection and acuracy is a must.
Alcaidesa has a growing reputation among the Costa del Sol's courses and has already played host to a number of Spanish PGA tour events as well as the Junior Ryder Cup in 1997.
An enjoyable and straightforward course, Alcaidesa's layout gives the visitor the sensation of aplying a Scottish Links style course but in the sub-tropical climate of southern Spain.
