Opened for play in 1991, Los Arqueros was the first Costa del Sol course designed by Seve Ballesteros. Set amongst the Ronda Hills between 2 valleys, the course offers scenic views down to the Mediterranean.
Measuring just over 6400 yards in length, it is not long by modern day standards but with tight fairways and a number of hazards, accuracy is the key to scoring well. Undulating fairways and small greens also require careful club selection.
One of the most difficult holes is the Par 5 8th which looks a daunting prospect from the tee. The numerous trees and large lake catch the eye while the landing area looks very narrow. The hole doglegs to the right with the green located in the valley below surrounded by another water hazard and bunkers on both sides.
A course more suited to the more experienced or lower handicap golfer, Los Arqueros offers a good test of golf combined with scenic views of the Ronda Mountains and Mediterranean sea.
