Situated near San Roque, Alcaidesa Golf Course was designed by Peter Allis and Clive Cook. It offers spectacular views of the Rock of Gibraltar and the Atlas Mountains of North Africa.
Alcaidesa Golf Course Description
Opened for play in 1992, the par 68 Alcaidesa Golf Course is not long by modern standards at just under 5500 yards, but it requires a fair amount of accuracy. The fairways are quite generous, encouraging the bigger hitters to open their shoulders from the tee. Some care has to be taken to avoid the many gorse bushes which await any stray tee-shots. The greens are fairly small, so careful club selection and accuracy are a must.
Alcaidesa Golf Course has a growing reputation among the Costa del Sol's courses, and has already played host to a number of Spanish PGA tour events, as well as the Junior Ryder Cup in 1997.
Enjoyable and straightforward, Alcaidesa Golf Course's layout gives the visitor the sensation of playing a Scottish Links style course, but in the sub-tropical climate of southern Spain.
