Designed by Spains most famous golf architect Pepe Gancedo, Torrequebrada opened in 1979 and immediately made an impression with the Spanish Open being held later the same year. It has long been considered one of the areas most popular courses among visitors and is home to PGA Tour Professional Migual Angel Jimenez.
The course lies 3km from the resort of Benalmadena and is famed for its immaculate fairways and also giving the player a different challenge on every hole. Measuring 6300 yards, it is not long by modern standards but tree lined fairways, sharp dog-legs and 9 water hazards puts the emphasis on accuracy rather than power.
