The newest course to be opened in the western algarve, Morgado lies to the north of the town of Portimao and sprawls over an area of 980 hectares.
The fairways are fairly generous allowing for the bigger hitters to open their shoulders although a number of deep pot bunkers and water hazards await any shots that stray too far off line. The main characteristic of Morgado is the large greens which place demand on a good putting stroke. The greens are also very well protected by large deep bunkers.
Measuring just under 7000 yards in length, the par 73 has been tipped to host major tournaments in the future and plans are well under for the building of a 2nd 18 holes at Morgado.
