Another Golf resort offering 2 x 18 hole courses, The Vale de Lobo Resorts original 18 holes opened for play in 1968 and are among the finest courses on the Algarve. Originally the brainchild of the late Sir Henry Cotton, the Vale de Lobo Courses offer a great variety of golf holes mixed with stunning views making these courses a "must play" for all serious golfers.
The Royal Course was completed in 1997 and became an instant hit with visitors to the area. Set amidst lakes and lush vegetation, the fairways wind their way through pine and fig tree lined fairways which meander down to the ocean. The signature hole is the par 3 16th which requires a spectacular shot across the cliff tops and has become a well known symbol of the Algarve and is regarded as the most photographed golf hole in Europe. The Royal Course has established itself as one of the premier courses in the Algarve.
